How can i finish the normal difficulty?

Now i want to go nightmare difficulty , but i cant finish normal difficulty.
Anyone can guide me to complete normal difficult? Thanks a lot
And in level 13 , there is a boss who will drop sword item quest, but i dont know where i can finish this quest

Well,as far as I recall in original Diablo 1 you had to defeat Diablo boss on current difficulty level to be allowed to play on higher one.
I think things are the same in the mod.

I see its not done with this quest. In general you need to find this boss who drop sword item, go to priest in town (this near portal) talk to him, go back for sword and give him. He die and you need to find on lv 14 room with lever and 3 buttons on floor. Just need to step in right order on these buttons and use lever to open dungeon (I always walk randomly and use lever every 3 clicked buttons. Clicked buttons cant repeat so it cant be button 1-1-1, need to be 3 different, so 6 combinations). In dungeon you need to find blacksmith and anvil. When you kill blacksmith he drop hammer. Equip it, put quest sword on anvil and hit anvil with melee attack with this hammer on. Quest done.

And about higher difficulty, yes you need to kill Diablo and obtain soulstone from corpse and use it to end game.
