Before getting to the main topic, a little introduction first. :)

For what I know, lemmingofglory (in ancestral ages) was the first that discovered that in diabdat.mpq there were tons of speeches unused in the vanilla game. All the content involving Diablo quests is already avaible in Belzebub mod.

Anyway tons of speeches are still unused: the Task speeches.

The task is a kind of quest but involves ONLY the townsman that triggered that quest. In total there are 19 tasks ( many :) :) ).
Almost all the tasks have a similar structure: basically you have to bring a quest item to the interested townsman. In this sense tasks may look like those quests:

OGDEN'S SIGN,MAGIC ROCK,BLACK MUSHROOM,ANVIL OF FURY.

All those speeches are reported here. For the curious ones, just download a MPQ Editor and explore diabdat.mpq.

Why not include those Tasks in Belzebub? Maybe 19 are too much work but since their majority have a similar pattern, code reusage is possible.
Since their nature is a bit different from the normal quest, maybe we can make those tasks randomly avaible in each game (maybe for the future endgame mode?). There are tasks that are not too specific, maybe we can add some randomness in there: for example putting the quest item inside a catacomb special level, and another time in a cave special level. Another idea that came into my mind is the possibility to random stack the tasks: for example in order to complete a task you have to finish another task before (This is by far the most complex, but I'm not asking anything, just throwing something out).


I know that the developer of Belzebub is already very busy in Multiplayer and balancing stuff , but I think that this proposal could be very interesting, also to making aware the community of how many things Diablo could still give.

I know about these tasks.

Torment difficulty level is just temporary endgame for belzebub. It will be replaced by some other system that will improve game replayability. Didn't want to implement anything complicated before multiplayer is complete because it would be double work.

These tasks will most likely be used for some sort of endgame. Details aren't decided yet.
