Question about Sprite Model Plans

Post by radicool »

So I did some research into what a Sprite Model is because apparently Diablo 1 uses "Sprite Models"

Sounds like a lot of work to create sprite models! Are there any plans in the foreseeable future to redo any Diablo 1 models such as units or chests, coffins or barrels to improve their resolution and detail? Are there going to be new monsters added to the game?

Just curious to game plans. I'm sure people would put their hand up to help if you ever needed it like someone volunteered to help you with reworking the quest menu :) Thanks for the awesome game!

Belzebub can support OpenGL?

Why not just import blender files directly?

Well they could do that, but that may affect the feel of the game. I think Diablo 2 used Sprite models too? It added a unique look to the game. That's not to say it will change the look of the game for the worse. Could make it look much nicer. Interested to hear one of the dev's answers.

I don't mind either way but I'm more interested in hearing if they are going to redo the textures for the units to add detail and higher resolution. That would add a fresh and good look to the game.
