quesiton bout its ability

"45% damage taken goes to mana"

from what i recall in d2 45% of the damage i got was converting intomana

so if i took 100damage, i would gain 45mana

i noticed in d1 the "45% damage taken goes to mana" serves like an energy shield im taking less damage and lose mana instead

is it intented to be that way ?

Yes, Mana shield is just 100% of this effect
