Quest: Valor

So, I've read the book and all, even got to that pedestal.
I clicked it and some text appeared really fast and then went away.
No idea what it said. But some 3-headed dragon or something showed up for about 10 seconds from a hole in the ground and then dissappeared.
According to some youtube clips of the original diablo I need some blood shards, so I checked out how to get them.
He got them from the same level as the pedestal was found.
From these horned demons. I do however not recieve any blood shards from killing them.
Is this quest bugged or am I doing something wrong? :/

the blood stones lie on the ground. the first one just before the blood pedestial or behind - don't know exactly anymore

the others are received in the rooms that you open with the bloodstones put on the blood pedestial

Second time you help me with a quest!
I will definitely try this out tomorrow, and I'll let you know how it worked out for me
