I installed D1 + patch, also Hellfire but the patch is not working with my Windows 7.
I installed belzebut, could start a new character or change resolution so all seems good.
1. Does Belzebut require Hellfire?
2. Is hellfire standalone? (and run separately after u finish D1)?
3. hardcore not available?
cheers
do i need hellfire?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
1. No, Belzebub works only with original Diablo, technically you only require to copy the diabdat.mpq and the files downloaded from this site in the same folder. But if you installed and patched you could play original Diablo too, and there is also a patch for original Diablo to work on newer systems if you have color issues or whatever, i have that but don't remember where i got it so google it.
2. Hellfire is the original Diablo's expansion, you can play it with original Diablo, but it has nothing to do with Belzebub. Belzebub is not really a mod cause it doesn't modify the original game, it's a recode of the game that uses the assets from that .mpq (gfx, animation, sounds, etc) but the gameplay and story keeps the spirit of Diablo there, i'd say even more so then the original.
3. Harcore was never available on any version of Diablo, and you can't really play HC with Belzebub cause you can die really easy, and some traps dmg are really cheap deaths in Torment difficulty doing up to 1k dmg. Then again you can just delete the character if you die.

thx, got it.
But i wonder if my game is bugged :/
I am level 13 but I never saw Butcher (but killed leoric).
I went to lvl 2 and the small room with blood and corpses has no Butcher in it. Restarted the game, got another layout obv but still empy.
The quest log has Butcher and Butcher chambers so?
Regards

I've made some documentation for Belzebub, so you check it for info on quests, items, etc. http://awake.diablo1.eu.org/diablo-1-hd ... t1211.html
