You need to run the game as administrator.

I am running a windows 8 x64 system and tried running Belzebub in administrator mode and STILL was unable to save my character or his progress. Any further suggestions?

Install mod to "My Documents" or C: drive.

Thanks, it worked in administration after reinstalling the program (but keeping my saved games)

- A quick question, is lvl. 16 the highest a spell can be taught by books?

Max. level taught by books is 15. You have 16 probably because you have +1 to all spell, or something like this.

tRied installing to the my documents folder AND running as admin to no avail. Please help as I dont want to loose my progress every time I need sleep and I would like tohe ability to NOT have this minimized 24x7 on my desktop. Suprisingly Technerblog (sp) saves games and characters just fine, it is only the Belzebub that is giving me fits. If there are extra folders that I need to create in My Documents and give "everyone" permissions to read/write.create.delete files I can do so if someone will direct me as to what they should be.

Thanks,

I figured out the problems and everything is working. I CAN SAVE NOW!!! I thought that Belzebub needed to be installed in the same directory as Diablo, but when I installed it in its own directory (F:\Games\Belzebub) it created the necessary directories and now saves every time i exit back to town. It would still be nice to have an explicit save on the menu so when going into a shady battle it would be possible to save first and take a different path should I loose.

Maybe next iteration.

Hi, Bob, I don't think the engine lets you do that. It's just how the game works.

You could however keep a backup copy of your saved game manually by copying the files.
