I just completed the 3 piece mavina set (belt+crown+chest) and I am wondering if I should use it over my current 3 items:
Bloodlord's visor visor
Skulder's Ire Hauberk
Gladiators Girdle battlebelt
Mavinas 3 piece Pros:
~20% increase in dps
100% light radius so i can see shit (current helm is minus 30)
240 attack time compared to 288
429 life (+226)
409 mana(+78)
+8% dmg reduction(36 form 28)
8% mana steal(+2%)
130% walk speed (+15%)
+22% attack speed (185% total)
Cons:
23% MF (-114%)
lose effect 'cannot be frozen'
I would like some input on this and the thoughts on end game gear finding and how necessary mf is.
I have a level 41 sorcerer just starting torment, so leveling him to 50 and making him an mf mule is possible
do I ever ditch the MF gear? there are still things I want to find, mostly recipes and Ceremonial mail Tigualted mail and Dragonslayers cage Dragonhide armor
a symbol of rathma would be nice to
what is the best class to go itemfinding with?
sorry that these thoughts and questions are unorganzied, just looking for expert knowledge
Gear question
Probably not. My Rogue is level 49, so haven't been able to equip the M'Caster yet to test it out.
Rogue went most levels using Iratha set and Bow of the Dead until crafting a very good Scouts Hunter bow. Then tier upgraded Iratha armor and the bow to a Razor bow to beat Hell level. Early in torment, found Hearthseeker, Ceremonial Mail, and Zendobia crown with crafted Harbinger rings and amulet for mana leach.

I found everything with Ugily, my 55 level necromancer in the lower pits of Torment. I use a good Rathma set with whatever the Mag Find staff is. I have high MF on ring, amulet, and belt.
I play at $PLAYER 5 or higher right now.
I have only found one Ceremonial Mail, 2 Zendobia, and 5 Hearthseekers. Most difficult to find item found so far is Cleglaw's clamp which is low level.
Have not found Bul-Kathos at all, and only pieces of Griswolds and Immortal King's.

Ok, I leveled up by doing a Hell run on DLevel 16 with $PLAYER 10 to boost the XP. Got level 50.
So I put together a best combination with Mavina's 4 piece set, including the Caster. Returned to Hell DLevel 15 to test it out. Doable, cleared the level out pretty quickly. Looted the levels and restarted the game in Torment Cathedral. Was somewhat playable, but I did not have enough mana leach due to enemy higher defenses. First Boss was barely beatable with every buff engaged. Decent to DLevel 2 Cathedral and I had to quickly retreat from mobs.
Results: Very playable in Hell, useless as a set in Torment. If you want a not too difficult challenge with max XP, play lower dungeon levels of Hell difficulty with $PLAYER 10 engaged.
Torment requires IGNORE TARGET DEFENSE on melee and REDUCE -% *ELEMENT* DEFENSES on spell casting.
If there were to be any tweaking to this mod, these abilities could be added to new Unique items other than weapons, perhaps a random magical stat on Rare items, Adding IGNORE TARGET DEFENSE as one of the empty spell slots or as a new skill buff. Or how about spawning as a random attribute on crafted items. Or even better, a crafting recipe to upgrade Magic/Rare/Set weapons to IGNORE TARGET DEFENSE ??
