Ignore Target's Defence

Post by kerry9992 »

this affix can make a weapon TOTALLY IGNORE the defence of ANYTHING hostile anything in game , include the evasion rate.

I think in nightmare mode , your attack will be 25% discount , 50% in hell and 75% in torment , if a monster has it's own high armor , can be lower. Which mean if your slash/arrow can deal 1000 damage in normal , it will be 250 in torment mode , even less with high armor one.

But , if you have an unique weapon with Ignore Target's Defence (ITD) ,it will remain 1000 and hit garranted. ( my sorc can hit in torment with just 150 to-hit with ITD weapon)

now My lv50 rogue use lv19 unique Bow of Dead , I upgrade it to rune bow so it's even more powerful , especially vs undead (+148% damage). It deal 7700 damage to anything in torment and close to 20000 to undeads with Sightless eye. 100% hit and damage number garranted.

I also test to let her weild Fang of Celeberus , lv43 unique sword with ITD , she can hit 4000+ on a single hit and breath fire alot with Dragon Breach shield.

I have Harbinger Bow recipe but I dont even try to make things from it.

Ok I suggest Belzbub shall fix this overpowered ITD or add it into affix list for lv50 weapon recipe .. or those lv50 monster like unique weapon are some joke.[/img]

Are you sure? I thought ITD was just for physical... I had a staff with ITD on my Sorcerer and it didn't penetrate any other element.

yes it's just for physical .. I say even Sorc such class with very low TO HIT can hit in torment mode. Usually they cannot because of low TO HIT.

I quit Sorc because it's really a pain to face immu-all monsters. meteor cluster? no ! And before I can get a staff or lv50 staff reciepe I guess I wont make him to beat torment diablo.

There's no problem with ITD, only a few items have it, about 2 per each type of weapon, and it makes that specific weapon good. Should stay on uniqs and not be on crafting recipes, we have enough useless uniq items and it's only normal that a handful of them be OP to compensate. The ex you gave with a difficulty penalty doesn't make sense, you want to do more damage not less and thus stop using a weapon once you pass to a higher difficulty, you don't even need ITD in Normal and Nightmare, even Hell can be done without it, it helps most in Torment and should remain the same. At most it could be % based like the Piercing Attack affix.

Ice blast and fireball produce physical damage in addition to elemental dam.

CORRECTION: Meteor Shower will produce physical "splash" damage.

Target an enemy with defenses against fire while he is up against a wall. Even though the fireball will go through him, when it hits the wall he will sustain physical damage. Same with blizzard.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

CORRECTION: Meteor Shower produces physical as well as fire damage. Blizzard does not.

Note: I was doing fire damage to resistant enemy because of fireball staff that has -15% fire resistant. Apology for the mistake.

A bit hard to test, maybe on some skeleton archers that are right against a wall, because they don't move. Out of curiosity i'll check if it's correct when i have the opportunity. I suspect it may be the damage from knockback which is pretty small, not really viable to take out immunes because it takes a very long time.

I tested it out and after reading the spell descriptions, I know that I was partially mistaken.

Meteor does some physical damage in addition to fire.

Fireball and Ice were both fired from a staff with -15% element.

I have edited the above posts.
