Bug? Gharbad the weak

Gharbad the weak, never able to complete his quest no matter how long I've been waiting, I have the latest build installed, is anyone else having this problem or am I missing something ?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks !

I was always curious as to how this quest functioned. I don't think it was simply time, because each time I did the quest, I progressed through at different rates. Perhaps you kill x number of monsters to progress through this quest? Maybe you needed to enter x number of rooms other than Gharbard's room? I'm not sure.

I wonder, had you already killed everyone on the level where Ghardbard the Weak was on (and so you may not have been able to finish it)? Were you waiting near Gharbard the whole time?

Just like in classic Diablo, after talking to him (once or twice) I cleared the 4th level fully (going to town at least once included) or cleared the 5th level and then returned to him, then he gave me equipment(s) then I went back to progressing and then returned to him again to kill him. It always worked.

Do not expect so high quality stuff from him.

I'm currently up to lvl 10, every monster, barrel, chest etc has been killed and searched completey, I will try and get back to Gharbad and see if anything has changed.

No, the first time I came across Gharbad I had gotten all the dialogue up to the part where he tells me to wait right at the end and that being with the lvl 4 completely cleared.

Like Danielson and radicool said: talk to him and go kill monsters, come back, talk to him and go kill monsters. i think this needs to be done 4 times. Let's also remember that you receive items from him before he attacks in the 3rd time, if i'm not mistaken. Then on the 4th time you speak to him, he attacks.

That method worked, I was finally able to complete that side quest, thanks to you, radicool and danielson for the help, it was much appreciated, now time to figure out how to kill Diablo, yep already up to him.

The quest's a bit buggy, yeah. I've had him attack me immediately after telling me about the awesome item he was going to give me. Made me jump a bit.
