blizzard is actually usefull vs some "orange-named" or "blue-named" bosses (don't know what's the type for them), who are immune to everything but extremely non0resistant to cold.

Also i met a guy lately with quadripple-immunes, so the most effective thing i could do was use a bow and golem, and shoot while holding blizzard spell. The attack speed buff from blizzard is insane Smile Dunno if it's a bug or supposed to be so.
Attack speed buff whatnow?

I've never had an instance where blizzard would realistically do more damage than spamming iceblast and always runs me out of mana faster. (then again its only at 7 so that's probably why...) Realistically I've learned to pretty much never count on cold damage unless its my last resort. :(

I just usually bust out elemental drain or neg resist weapons before that. I did however just play around with blizzard a little in the game... It's not quite as terrible as I remember but still seemed significantly less efficient than my current means... I'm probably doing it wrong.

It's random when we talk about Blizzard and Meteors. Once on static target it can deal dmg one time while duration of this spell and other time it can hit 3-4 times. So squares that are damaged in particular second is random with each cast and still you need to remember that usually mob is moving... So when mob moves sometimes you can cast blizz/meteor and deal no dmg and sometimes you can deal it few times with one spell.

Exactly... and we all know the RNG hates me so it never works out in my favor... :)

RNG have most influence on drops. Numbers are such high that randomness is really bitchy. But with Blizzard theres an easy way to go around RNG. When you try to blizz/meteor single enemy just don't point at him while casting. Always try to cast near him. It was usefull in D2, here is same. So when you need to cast few blizz/meteors try to cast around standing target and in some sort of spiral when it's moving. Always near, never exactly pointing at.

Yeah that's how I was treating it yesterday and it seemed to work better for me. Still not sure its working good enough for me to actually use prime time tough.

For me Blizzard is only usefull on $p0 while i'm dealing with both fire/light immunes and sometimes (mostly poison enchanters but sometimes high res cold ones) it's usefull while escaping. Maybe it's just because it's slvl6 ;P

Oh, cool, it took me some time to find this subject.

Noktis, maybe you should consider making this topic 'sticky' until there's info on the project website?

By the way, do I understand correctly, that mana shield is now unique to sorceror (not counting shrines)?
