Hello everyone! Barbarian PvM suggestion?

Hail to you my friends.
I'm new here, and discovered this great Belzebub mod the other day.

Diablo for me has been a defining experience as a gamer and as a person - I'm really into RPG stuff, I run games as a dungeon master and I build dungeons tiles for tabletop games with miniatures and when I think of "fantasy RPG", Diablo is what comes to my mind.
There's no such thing as this: occult, black magic, haunted chatedrals, demons, Satanism, sword and axes. And beards, I'd add.

Now let's go straight to the point: I always played as the Warrior when I was a kid and managed to finish the game. I never had the opportunity to play Hellfire and never tried the Barbarian.
Thanks to Belzebub mod I have been able to make Diablo work on Win8 perfectly and I'm playing as a Barbarian.

I noticed that I have completely no magic and can't use spells. From a RP perspective, I'd never use a spell in my life as a barbarian. But I'm in Caves level 10-11 now and all those acid spitters, archers and the Succubi in the woods is driving me mad. My movement speed is atrocious, I've got no shield, and while I can kill most of the abominations in 2-3 hits with the very useful Cleave skill, the coward vermin always run away, and literally dozens of missile attacks coming from off-screen are raping my barbarian. It's embarassing to say but It's really how it is.

Is there a Skill that will let me cover a long distance like the Diablo II leap?
Raising dexterity to wield a bow seems like a bad idea, I guess...? too many points in a completely pointless stat for the barbarian.

Forgive my ignorance. This is literally my first post here and I'll try to adapt in little time. Thanks in advance, I look for some of your wisdom and knowledge with the game.

Woah!! They stand no chance. Incredible. Good barbarian needed something like this, or at least some kind of speed buff (maybe with berserk mode?)

And what is the ability on the left with the double edged axe picture?
It's looking great. Awesome work.

Do I have to create a new character when this patch will come out? Or will it automatically overwrite the one i already own?
