Total list of changes from D1?

Post by Andrettin »

Is there anywhere that I can see a total list of changes of changes from Diablo? I.e. lists of new skills, whether shrines have been changed (I haven't touched a single shrine yet for fear that they work like in D1 and change your permanent stats, although I hope it isn't so in this mod), and so on.

All I could find was this list:
http://mod.diablo1.eu.org/features/

It helps, but I would like to know if there is a more detailed one.

About shrines, no, they don't work like in D1, anything that affects your character is temporary. For some of them you can even cancel their effect without waiting for the timer to run out by right clicking on the icon that appears in the top right corner of the screen.

For the answers, and I'm glad about the shrines!

BTW it seems even the Black Death's ability to lower your max hit points is temporary, which is a good thing :]
I really didn't like that being permanent in D1C, that meant you had to avoid contact at all costs... not cool when playing a Warrior.

But do watch out of the Black Deaths... (From what I have read...) Even though its not permanent its still bad... The magic/lightning/poison enchanted ones can bring you to like 1 base HP in seconds if you are a fast attacking melee character... especially if you have multiple enchantments on your weapon. Apparently "Black Death" can be applied from returned damage from them as well as their normal attack.

You don't have to be afraid to do anything as there is much less permanent changes in this than in vanilla. As said, Shrines, elixirs and whatnot are all temporary buffs. Also keep in mind that there are no caps on stats excluding the 0 magic cap for the barbarian.
