Don't rush it, remember it isn't normal diablo! If you wan't good gear, you won't buy it from shops. The steps for better equipment are: collect items with high +item quality%, adjust MP higher than 0($player 0-10 in console) make some diablo, laz runs on norm, good place is also lost tresure quest.

In Belzebub there is a monster power system "MP" you activate it through console-enter and then type $player from 0 to 10. The game becomes harder, more exp, better items but more hp and dmg. for monsters. If you get messed up by monsters in nightmare, but clear 13-TD effortlessly on normal, you can play norm on higher mp like mp-5, getting better prepared for other dif.

Chests have much lower ilvl then unique bosses.

For example Zhar the mad on nightmare:
Player 0: 42 ilvl
Player 10: 45 ilvl

Chest on 8 level catacombs:
Regardless of player power: 23 ilvl

So chests in catacombs can only drop average normal unique/set items that are not usefull past normal while bosses and monsters can drop exceptional quality items.

ilvl means item lvl.

every item in the game has its "item lvl"

how i see it. high ilvl means item has better chance to get good mods high lvl mods ( mods = random stat on item) a monster lvl 1 will most likely dorp stuff for lvl1 with items ilvl1

i just dunno how ot explain -.-

from what i know there is no way ingame to know the ilvl of items. it is certain tho that the further u progress in game the higher monster drop higher ilvl items
