Character can fight with two 1-hand-weapons?

Question, which character can fight 2x1H weapons? Is that possible?
I wanted to play an assassin with 2 daggers or short swords, but she always puts only one sword and I would have to put on a shield, which I do not like as Assa

In a way, characters can dual wield weapons at high levels.

or you could just use the off-hand weapon with whatever primary hand weapon you would like. But why bother because these sets are pretty awesome

I suppose that if someone knew how to modify an individual item, then it may be possible to set an item to identify as an off-hand weapon.

I agree, dual wielding daggers would be cool on the Assassin! Right now, daggers have no purpose. They are just wimpy swords.
