I just started and I think Belzebub is absolutely epic, cult and flawless! I'm captivated by how awesome everything is and I would say the gameplay is addictive and crazy fun. Belzebub >>> D3. This mod is a work of genius and I am quite sure I'll revisit it every few years.
The devs have made an incredible job; I wish I could tell them how awesome the game design is, how great it is what they have achieved, and how important it is for them to continue the work. Belzebub is pure genius. I've been doing nothing but playing Belzebub for the past 4 days, this is some happiness long lost! Everything has a purpose, everything has a solution, the progress is smooth, steady and addictive. I wish more theorycrafting would be available
Anyways, Game of the Decade
so here's my puny rogue from dlvl 8 nightmare

Cool beans, but i'd say don't spend anymore points into VIT or MAG, cause you only get +1 life/mana and it's just not worth it, here you can see the affixes that spawn on rare/crafted items http://awake.diablo1.eu.org/post9869.html#9869 and the +life/mana ones will always top what you can spend. So just go for DEX from now on, STR is not bad but i wouldn't put anymore there either cause it's enough what +attributes you get from gear to wear stuff. For learning spells just have +MAG dedicated gear, truth is besides Teleport, Golem, Insanity and Sacrifice you don't really need anything else when fighting mobs, well Town Portal and Telekinesis too for utility. Later on life/mana leech will keep you active in higher difficulties so don't waste pts on VIT and MAG.
And have fun!

Yeah well, what I figured is that Belzebub basically offers you to relive the Diablo II experience once again. Yes, there are similar games of the genre, people name Path of Exile, Titan Quest, but I don't want new, I want to live thru the old again.
Unfortunately, I'm still saturated by D2 gameplay; I've seen it all [mostly as a multishot ama] and there is nothing there that I haven't tried. I'm even still mad at Blizzard when they introduced new runewords including BotD which simply didn't work for amas, because bows cannot get ethereal. So everyone enjoyed a significant dmg boost suited to the new difficulty, but amas were forced to continue to use the old Windforce. I had a Windforce on HC.
But Beelzebub is like doing Diablo with a massive amount of lessons learned. The uniques are better. The drops are better, the way suffixes and prefixes appear is way better than usual. The elemental mob attacks are incorporated very well into the whole gameplay process. The quest bosses are an entire league of their own. The drop ratios and patterns are pleasing. This mod is legendary. While I feel zero motive to play the D3 expansion, I can barely restrain myself from staying all night long playing Belzebub. The premise of standard D1 the way I saw it was Fireball+CL Beyond Naked Mage kicking hell/hell asses in an unforgettable, stylish way. And now I can relive the same with my favorite ms-ama class and even get to feel the thirst for gear that BNMs never saw! Every point of awesomeness one can see in evaporating a pack of Knights with some 10-20 casts of CL, all that awesomeness is present in Pierce+MS godless arrow spam which is just soo vibrant, so full of life!
Now I need to get some mana leech asap so I can spam MS without reservation. Otherwise yes, Golem is my bread and butter right now, but I fear it will become obsolete some time soon. I have sth like 210 magic in my reading gear, if I'm extremely lucky I might see 2 more Golem books read before the hell and torment Golem quest rewards kick in. I even have a +2 spells staff in my other hand so maybe I can summon some more developed Golems.
BTW vit/mg give 1.5 points per unit, it's just that the softcoded form is 1, not 1.5 (from the manual). I'm looking for all the fulfilling theorycrafting discussions here as to all things Belzebub.
I really liked the Sentinel spell, I'm still testing it; and I'm really sad Stone Curse ain't worth heck in this mod; absolutely useless.
I will report if I will find me a decent Mana leech gear that can feed enough mana for sustained multishot.

Well, Stone Curse was a thing a couple of patches ago... It was OP with sorcerer, having a high lvl Stone Curse just putting the mob into 10-15sec stun and spamming Fire Walls or Lightning Walls on them. Stoning mobs didn't give them resistances, but now, since patch 1.041 or so the dmg u do to them while stunned is reduced by 75% and the Fire/Lightning walls have a 1 sec cooldown (which they didn't before!). It was just a balance reason, since now you can imagine how overpowered sorcerer was.
Also, Apocalypse was nerfed.... I think it costed way less mana and didn't have that long cooldown. oh, the good ol' sorcerer!
