My char file has been corrupted

Hello everyone. After my PC died, I restarted playing Belzebub with a Necromancer, that today has reached clvl 36. The situation is this : after pressing the "EXIT GAME" button - to stop playing - my PC had a blue screen and, after it rebooted, my character disappeared. I still have its file (save0.chr) in the player_save folder, but it doesn't show ingame, so I only have the "New Hero" option.

Does anyone have an idea about what has happened? Do I have to restart my Necro again, or there is a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance

Well, just a guess but the drive probably failed while writing the character save and corrupted it, hence why it's not recognized anymore.

Perhaps BrightLord might be able to fix it if you send him the files, yet that's not even sure (depending on how badly corrupted they are), and only he can say whether or not he wants to even try.

I tried opening it with an hex editor [I use it to change colours in Stronghold Crusader maps :p but only because there's a guide which indicates how to do it... I do not know a thing about hex language] and i only see endless lines of zeros[like 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ..........] , while if I open a newly created char it's still incomprehensible, but there are many letters and numbers.

this endless row of zero's sounds like a totally deletion to me ...

It's mean that your save file is useless. Make backup next time :)

I don't know why it happens. I might create auto backup folder when game opens character file.
