Hello, I'm new around here and I have a few questions to clear up confusion...

1.) What is the difference between Diablo 1 HD MOD (Belzebub) and Diablo 1 Mod - The Awakening; which is newer and most supported?

2.) Do I need Diablo Hellfire for the Diablo 1 HD MOD (Belzebub) or is it intended for just Diablo?

3.) Do the MODS work for each version of the game or do I need a patch? What is the recommendation?

4.) I've managed to install the Mod in a Wineskin wrapper on top of OS X Mavericks; all seems to work well except the sound. I've installed OpenAL from the package, but I have no sound. There is sound during the intro but not after, during game play. How can I fix the sound to where I can adjust volumes and listen to Deckard Cain carry on?

5.) Is there already a Mac port of Diablo 1 HD?

I'm most concerned with number 4.
I have no sound after the initial cut scene.

For those interested, I'm using the latest Wineskin Wrapper (Wineskin 2.6.0) and latest Wine Engine (WS9Wine1.7.23). I'm ruing Mac OS X Mavericks, on a 20-inch, Early 2008 iMac with 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 800 MHz DDR SDRAM, and ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128 MB, as my host. I've installed OpenAL both from the original Diablo 1 HD MOD v1.041 package and OpenAL v2.1 from a oalinst.exe file found on the internet. Neither one allowed sound.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix sound would be much appreciated.

1) Check changelogs of both mods. Belzebub is younger than Awake. I don;t know what Noktis is doing now but few months ago he said that there will be no updates for Awake because Belzebub is main project now (help for BrightLord is big thing as we see ;p). But in other hand there won't be any updates for sometime in Bel, because BrightLord is working on multiplayer version.

2, 3) You only need DIABDAT.MPQ file from vanilla Diablo CD copied to Belzebub's directory. You don't need to have vanilla Diablo installed.

5) I believe BrightLord said that all version of his mod is playable on Mac's...
