What do you mean?
Diablo II already runs at 800x600 (with Lord of Destruction at least) and already has many of the features this mod "adds to D1" — actually I may be wrong but to me it looks like they made a new engine from scratch to recreate the game by accessing its ressources, instead of modifying the existing executable.

1. AFAIK there is already a HD mod for D2.
2. Many things in Belzebub is taken from D2.
3. There aren't any quests/characters that was planned to implement to D2 but Blizz decided to go otherwise.
So how can someone do something similar to Belzebub but in D2? O.o

if you use an HD mod for diablo 2 everything will be much smaller because its just an higher resolution but the scale is the same.. i would like to have smothing similar for diablo 2 that keeps the "sharpness" and the distance of the "viewer".
if you play diablo 1 or 2 in an resolution like 800x600 on an 24' widescreen its looks really .. how can i say.. milky and not sharp... but belezbub looks amazing on my 24 acer..

D1 and D2 are based on sprites, so is Belzebub mod.
Making D2 or D1 have the same camera distance from character, but sharper looking graphics would mean redoing EVERY SPRITE IN THE GAME, INCLUDING ANIMATIONS, IN HIGHER RESOLUTION. Floortiles, walls, characters, monsters, spells, objects, items, effects...
To do such a thing you have to have either 1: talent and shitloads of free time or 2: money for hiring someone like this.

so that is what the belzebub team did for their mod or why is it looking so much better then "vanilla" D1??

If you zoom in in belzebub so that you have the same camera distance as in original Diablo, you'll get the same look D1 had.
OpenGL 2.0 and newer DirectX helped a lot, but the sprites are the same.

ok i see.. so do you know a mod that give openGL 2.0 and a newer DirectX, and the camera distance similar to the belzebub one to D2??

If you take an look at belzebub zoomed out completely... and I mean really look, and then compare it to even one zoom step in you will see a serious drop in sharpness. While it applies filters to it to re-sample it (anti-aliasing?,) it becomes much less crystal clear and retracts from the original quality of the sprites.
This is the effect that SlapZ is referring to.

yeahh i get this.. so i need a mod that allows me to zoom in and out in diablo 2 .. cause even 1024x768 evertyhing is really tiny..

Thats easy, just set the resolution to 800x600 or 640x480...
You don't want a mod that ups the resolution just to zoom in because you WILL loose quality as I previously explained. A higher resolution just to zoom in loses the benefits of the higher resolution and just introduces artifacts from scaling.

when i do this it doesnt look as nearly as good as belzebub.. if i could some further away it would get sharper.. but 1024x768 is alreasy too much for me.. ahh anyway..

I'm not sure then, sorry.
