Manashield mechanics

I should know this from having played original Diablo 1 and Hellfire much in the past but not only did I never really pay attention I do not know if it would directly translate to Belzebub anyway.

Onto the questions:

Does Armor class apply before or after Manashield? IE: Higher armor makes you less likely to get hit but when you do it hits manashield? OR Manashield always gets hit at X accuracy and when manashield fails your armor counts.

Do resistances apply before or after Manashield? IE: 100 damage firebolt hits a mage with 75 percent fire resistance with manashield up. Is the mana drained 25 points or 100 points?

Thank you kindly.

As far as i noticed, manashield is like your HP. Armor and resistances apply to it the same way as when you haven't got manashield.

I also have a question about mana shield.

There are some items with the "x% of damage taken goes to mana", does this apply to damage taken while mana shield is active?

Mana shield equals 100% damage taken goes to mana.
We can see it in the Magic tab on character screen. It would be funny if having 142% (mana shield + item) actually increased damage you are receiving :D

Mana shield is applied after all other calculations are done. However damage to mana is inscreased by 50% for balancing purposes.

Aaaaaah, i thought that damage taken goes to mana meant that you would receive a percentage of damage done to you in mana. Like get hit for 50 damage with 50% dtgtm and you receive 25 mana.

This is actually an interesting idea for Berserer's or Warrior's items.

Well crap... I guess I've had this stat all wrong all along. I could have sworn it was damage return as mana like a reverse mana leach...

Anyways thanks for the answers.

That's what I thought, I'd have replaced receive with lose.
