Finally i made it into the cave.
After that i reached a church like area and in it where several levers and buttons to press.
after i activated each of them i reached the middle area with some unique mages.
i killed all of them but now im stuck. i don't know how to reach the upper area...

i see - it is the "soulstone chamber"...got the same bug as other players it seems. no reward at all.

I don't think there is a way to get to the upper area, the reward you get is a small item from one of the mages. On my first run through normal i didn't get the item. It looks similar to a crafting item though so what could have happened is i didn't notice it then created a new game. It explicitly states that it is only available for the current game, so maybe you hit new game as well i dunno.
