on mob immunities

Post by ecb »

Playing NORMAL currently

Noticed some monsters in the lava area are already immune to
magic + fire + lightning

seems bit steep for normal difficulty, when playing mage, no?

Q1: I expect further difficulties will increase number of immunities per monster?
Q1: Is physical immunity in game?
Q2: i saw some items with -X% monster fire/cold/etc resistance (very small values). Is this the only way to go about killing stuff with mage?
Q3: On the same account, does "immune" mean 100% resistant? (i know in d2 sometimes you got like 200% physical immune monsters you couldnt break with -100% physical resist)

(post anything related to immunities / resistances here)

A1: Example:
Monster have 50% fire resistance on normal. It will gain 25% to all resistances per difficulty level. It means 75% res on nightmare, 100% immune on hell and 125% immune on torment.

A2: No immunity. Only resistance based on armor and clvl/mlvl ratio.

A3: Yes it's required for later difficulties. That's only way to make mage want other stats then Magic on his gear. Mage is still easiest class to play.

A4: Immune is simply 100% resist. You can reduce it even to negative level where monster will take extra damage.

Immunities may vary?

-cf A1: Example: Monster have 50% fire resistance on normal. It will gain 25% to all resistances per difficulty level. It means 75% res on nightmare, 100% immune on hell and 125% immune on torment.
-cf A4 : Immune is simply 100% resist. You can reduce it even to negative level where monster will take extra damage.

Erm i dont get it?
- if "immune" means 100%, then even on Torment, a monster with immune is 100% resistant, isn't it?
- Else, if immune depends on the difficulty, then it would mean:
a monster immune on Normal would in fact have 50% resist,
a monster immune on Nightmare would in fact have 75% resist,
a monster immune on Hell would in fact have 100% resist,
a monster immune on Torment would in fact have 125% resist?

which is the case please?

PS: i LOVE this Mod, makes the regular game look like crap :o)
This Mod is Awesome !
