Butcher Basement bug

So I casted a portal inside the butchers room and opened the red portal to his basement. I slayed all the demons down there and noticed I couldn't pass a certain door. "Rusted Door" I think it said. So I casted a trap disarm spell to open it. It appeared to open and I could shoot the monsters inside but still couldn't actually pass through. My rogue said "I can't get there from here". Searching around, I noticed a lever and pulled it, however it appears to have had no effect.
Could using the trap disarm spell have bugged the lever to not allow me through? Or have I just stupidly forgotten to do something?
Edit: Just started up a second character as a sorceror. Obviouslly didn't disarm trap those doors and after pushing the lever, the doors opened no problem. So it seems the problem is using the rogue's disarm trap ability.
