how to restore backup

Hello, I have been playing and the game has failed me, I have reinstalled it but when copying the saved games it does not recognize them, nor does it copy the backups and change the extension.
Does anyone know if I have to do a specific process to recover them?

There's no special process required to use backups - if it's a valid save and you rename it to the name your save had, it should work just fine

Possibly, you put the save files into the main game folder, instead of the proper sub-folder. The video-game creates a sub-folder called "Diablo 1 Tchernobog". That folder won't be present until you play the video-game at least once. That is where the save files go. Next time you backup your saves, copy that entire folder, or just copy the entire video-game folder onto USB every so often, which is what I do.
