unusual problem

Hey everybody brand new to this community & diablo 1 mods, but love it.

Recently downloaded tchnernobog,
tried to adjust resolution & the screen goes completely white.
the game doesn't crash, because I can hear it.
forced to hard shutdown my computer.
I try to open tchnernobog again, but immediate white screen, same problem, can hear the opening scene, but cant see where the game is projecting.
haven't tried to uninstall/reinstall because the game seems to have saved the settings of being fullscreen,
any help?

I would go through the usual emergency procedures.

Reboot and update display and video drivers and reboot

Reinstall Tchernobog in a new folder, copy appropriate .MPQ file.
Create new character and test play.
Copy old characters and test play.
