Ignore target defense - Staff of shadows

The stat "ITD" of the staff of shadows ¿Does it mean that when using my spells I ignore the armor of the enemies or only works with physical attacks?

I have not found a useful purpose for that item.
Maybe I will experiment some.
Need the monk class added. Balance him to use staffs.

Ok, I equipped level 54 Barb with an imperfect Staff of Shadows. First floor of the Church in Torment was difficult but playable. I could put together an equipment build that could be interesting to play, but wouldn't be able to get far in Torment - Hell with high $PLAYER x maybe better.
Need mana and life drain on rings, Giant Skull, Can not be frozen item, bonus items for boosting Circle of Ice and Frost Chard.
This could be decent for low level play with high level character using the right build.
