Upgrade crafted armor

Hod does it works? If I will upgrade crafted weapon will I lose my current attributes for weapons? If I update, will there be new ones in addition to the existing magical properties?
Any crafting skill to UPGRADE MAGIC/UNIQUE/SET/CRAFTED ARMOR/WEAPON will modify the base item attribute of the item from Tier1 to Tier 2. Existing bonuses will remain intact. So on weapon, the base damage will increase along with the STR/DEX prerequisite.
On Belzebub, there is a bug when upgrading Long Swords and Sabers where they upgrade to the wrong item. Longsword becomes a Backsword and loses attack speed. something like that.... Am unsure if the error was corrected in Tchnerbog.
