way harder than i remember

so started playing d1 again after about 15 years
got to level 2 of the catacombs, so maybe level 6 overall....
up until now iu have been smashing enemies away with ease, but all of a sudden im getting slaughtered by basic enemies, and there are no more enemies for me left to go back and grind for a few experience points
what am i doing wrong here? started with the warrior to keep things basic
i remember smashing through this game when i was younger, it seems so much harder all of a sudden, i thought id get a trainer/character editor/item editor like i had years ago but cant seem to get any of them to work on a modern system annoyingly
so i guess im gna have to do it the legit way but im struggling like hell here, help a brother out!
