Multiplayer dmg numbers?

brother and i just started playing this mod and are enjoying it so far but have seen videos of others playing and they have damage numbers showing. Cant figure out if we are doing something wrong or if possibly its a bezzlebub thing and we cant do on tchernobog? cant find any info so figured if anyone can just tell us we cant do it or if we can tell us how it would be awesome.
