Diablo 1 HD Hellfire Mod | Awake

I recently had to replace my CD drive on my tower and after that my characters (Warrior & Sorcerer) will not go to level 5 in normal. The game bombs out back to the file folder. I have tried both characters with the same result. Should I down load the zip file again and reinstall?

Swapping out a drive shouldn't have done anything to your software; especially since the game is doing a hard exit it seems like this is more indicative that something went wrong with the install. As long as you do a backup of your character data, there's no harm doing a fresh install so go ahead, but watch carefully for the problem to persist.

Although holy hell where did you find a CD drive?

I had same problem back in the days. But mine was with breaking a one randomly spawned barrel on level 7. Barrel had some broken decal sprites on it and caused crashing animation while breaking it.

So I solved it by running the game with windows NT compatibility mode enabled.
