Diablo 1 HD Hellfire Mod | Awake

Hello everyone,

While I was playing on my level 25 sorcerer, my PC restarted and when I reloaded the game back up he was gone. All my other characters were unaffected, however.

The CHR file for this character is still in the player_save folder in my Diablo folder. I tried reinstalling the mod but to no avail.

I believe the CHR file got corrupted somehow, and I would like to know if there is anyway to recover him, as he is my best character and has a lot of good spells and equipment, and I don't particularly want to rebuild another sorceror..

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your sorcerer is almost definitely gone. It must have been in the middle of updating some of his code right in the middle of a line when the computer shut off so you'd have to go through line by line looking for gibberish, and that'd take more time than grinding a new one to Level 25. Sorry. Resquiat in Pace.

*sigh*Okay. Thank you for the response. I've already started rebuilding another one, but it's still a sad loss. Oh well. Thanks again!

On the plus side lvl 25 is not too terribly deep into the game. If he was your main toon (highest lvl, had all the best gear you found) then ya its a bit of a hit.

However sorc's can lvl really fast on normal and nightmare once you get a few decent pieces of gear. Popping elemental drain and then teleporting like crazy while spamming chain lightning is a blast.
