Diablo 1 HD Hellfire Mod | Awake

Hello,
Just started playing hd belzebub mod. Its awesome but the game is extremally easy now when I can recharge my staff at no cost to max charges. It makes me not use my spells at all and takes away the difficulty and fun. Why was ths done ? Is there a way to play original Diablo 1 in HD without those changes?

You are judging the book by its cover. As you level up you will run into lots of troubles as difficulty ramps up with each difficulty level. First few dungeon levels are meant to be somewhat easy for anyone and the last ones are meant do be difficult.

Yeah i don't think the staff recharge alone will get you very far, except when starting out..
And if you would like a challenge from the very beginning then use the $player X command.
