Diablo 1 HD Hellfire Mod | Awake

Does anyone know the best way to find really good high end items? I can nearly beat diablo now on the last difficulty and am trying to get good gear.

I played on normal monster level and 0 % mf and just changed now since my character (rogue) is getting more powerful. Now I play on monster level 2 and 58 % mf.

So my question is if it's better to try to get more okay mf gear and higher percentage, or to equip good damage gear to play on higher monster level?

monsters can drop anything, or simply might not drop. with the increase of the "monster level" - there are more chances that monster will drop at least something.
now, if they do drop, then your MF will come to determine what will be the quality of the item: normal, magic, rare, set or unique.
so you need to find a balance: to kill as fast as you can at maximum comfortable for you "monster level" in Torment with good MF. 200-250 MF is good enough.
btw, in caves lost treasure tournament you can get all items upto lv.43. so if "your dream item" is not higher that lv 43 - lost treasure cave will be the best place to farm.

How monster level in other zones can be determined? My WAR is currently struggling to progress further than ~lv 14 Hell on Nightmare difficulty. I wonder where would be best to farm for good items.

Do the lost treasure chests go off "equip lvl" or qlvl? I often read that torment drops up to lvl 43. Does that mean level req no matter what qlvl? And up to which level can you drop in hell LT ?
