Question/Help About Barbarian

So I've been going on my Barbarian for a while and have gone through the game mostly without trouble. Once I hit Nightmare Caves I started to get killed quite often but still managed to slog through. However I hit floor 13 in Nightmare and got quite literally 1 hit killed 100%-0 by the Warlord of Blood who had Haste, Extra Strong and Lightning Enchanted. At this point it's obvious I'm doing something wrong and I was wondering based on these stats should I have dumped double maybe triple into vit and ignored str/dex or do I just need better gear? Unsure at this point how better gear would alleviate a melee attack that does over 425 damage though.

At this point any suggestions are welcome, or should I just restart from 1 and allocate my stats for WAY more vit? If it's a gear problem where's a good spot I can farm with these stats?

VIT is a waste, and anything besides STR imo, for spending points in anything else you now lack almost a 1/3 of potential dmg, i dunno but it's more then 1/4 for sure. I got one Barbarian to Torment lvl 13 without spending any attribute points from leveling or quests, and only learned 1 spell level of each, there is no handicap higher than this and it was doable, slow but still. So you need better gear, i for one had everything basically from previous playthroughs. And DPS is not dmg per hit, it's an estimate of optimal dmg considering crit chance/hit, anyway it's only an idea not really a marker.

How exactly do I get around being hit for over 425 damage then? I wasn't joking when I said I literally got 1 shot by the Warlord of Blood in players 0. Will some items just give craptons of health or physical resistance? I'm not sure I understand, damage isn't a problem it's damage from enemies, mainly physical ones and possessed mobs.

-DFE and some more AC. And higher dmg and a bit of life leech helps too, i don't remember him being that hard to stunlock, and 425 dmg seems exaggerated. Actually i checked it's about 240 and i had 134 AC, maybe with a crit hit he could reach 425.

I promise it was a legit 1 hit kill, I didn't know mobs could crit. He took 1 swing at me and I was dead from max hp. I had max Fury Stacks at the time and hadn't used Mortal Strike when he hit me. Thanks for the help though, any place that's really good to farm with my current setup?

Well as an update after grinding floor 13 for a day and gaining a full level and only finding 1 remotely decent item. I got 2 shot by the Warlord of Blood, 235 each hit hitting INSANELY fast. He had Bloodlust, Haste, Extra Strong, Behemoth and Lightning Enchanted. At this point I really don't know what to do, maybe reroll Rogue? Lol. The only thing I can think of is that due to AC having a direct effect on physical resistance % I need to somehow gain another 300 AC to stand even a fighting chance against the Warlord. Any suggestions are welcome, I am highly weary of putting any points into Strength after this. I am WAY too squishy.

I remember having a bit over 400 AC (and some 20ish -DFE and about 10% life leech) was enough to survive Hell difficulty Terror's Domain as a melee character, and beat Diablo himself. Don't remember earlier difficulties since i had no problems and didn't need to better my setup to beat anything until Hell's difficulty Diablo, but i suspect 250 or something AC should be enough in Nightmare. And again i feel dmg is the key, in order to just stunlock enemies and not worry about them hitting you.
BTW you got the worst roll on him with his affixes.

Hmm I see, I haven't actually been able to stunlock any Behemoth mob. That would make sense as to how to nullify his crazy damage. Perhaps I should just reroll and max strength? On top of that should I also make a Sorc and get them to Nightmare, max magic find and just spam those Lost Treasure chests? They seem to give decent payout and could be lightning fast by skipping all the lizards. As it stands right now I've had basically the same gear since normal, I haven't found anything really that better with the exception of rare rings with hit recov, hit % and all stats 19ish. Made about 5 Highlander Helms but they all suck. Thanks for the help by the way, also speaking of which is there a list for what the modifiers do? I've pieced together that Behemoth = hella hp and AC but I honestly have no idea what Bloodlust and Mastery do. If those are the worst mods for the Warlord I feel it might be important to know what they do.
