Diablo 1 HD Hellfire Mod | Awake

Hello

I'm on Nightmare right now (not sure if this has anything to do with anything but just providing all information) and this quest is completely bugged right now. I found the Fungal Tome and talked to Adria, I then proceeded to get the mushroom in my inventory, but I was in no rush and continued to floor 10. Upon finishing a massive battle, the game decided to abruptly crash. When I started the game up again, the mushroom had disappeared from my inventory, and going back to Adria, she had the quest marker abover her head and talking to her was telling me to find the mushroom.

Went back and of course it took forever finding the stupid mushroom patch again......it said "I can't use this yet". So I tired clicking the tome... "I do not need this".

So it's currently impossible to complete this quest right now. Is there some fail safe I don't know about where quest items go or am I simply screwed?

Try switching difficulties, i mean load the character in Normal, save and exit and try picking up the mushroom or speaking with her again again in Nightmare.

Did that, made a normal game after everything else wasnt working, went to the caves and same thing, can't click tome or mushroom patch. Adria also has nothing to say as I did every quest before moving to nightmare.

Going back to nightmare and it's still the same thing. The game is acting like the quest is complete in regards to obtaining the item but since the mushroom decided to vanish from my inventory, I can't talk to Adria and finish the quest.

Like I said the quest marker is constantly above her head, so the game is acting like I have the mushroom to hand in, but since it vanished into the void when I talk to her it just comes up with the Talk, buy/sell, Black Mushroom Options. If I ask about the mushroom, she tells me to go find it.

Ouch, I think it's hopeless now. I guess you should just continue the next quests and leave this one out.

But It's a bit sad because of the +3 points to all stats.
