Right now my new Mage is lvl 44 and i keep saving money for gambling.

Does anybody know if it is possible to get the best stats on a staff by gambling (maybe i need a higher clvl)? like -30 enemy resistances/+40% spell power etc.?

Because right now max enemy resistance - i can get is 20%...

No i don't think so, maybe after clvl 50 you could gamble one but i'm not sure, it's best to reach the Hell levels on Torment difficulty and look for it there. Also if you are on Torment and a Sorcerer try to do some runs of Zhar the Mad, find the Slain Hero on lvl 9 of the Caves and defeat Izual, these can drop staves of high item level that may have these affixes. Destroying Shadowfang on the Hellforge will also give a Sorcerer a high item level staff, but i don't think you can do it more than once.

Ultimately just use the Sorcerers' skill Element Drain, it's far superior at dealing with all around immunes. Also if target is not magic immune, you can wear those tough bosses/elite monsters down with the spell Bone Spirit (always Healing because you have low Life points) and then just use a few Meteor Clusters to finish them off, because Meteor Cluster also does a small amount of Physical Damage (the named Splash Damage in spell description).

Best spell staff will come from crafting. You will have to craft many until you get the one you want. You will want higher level crafting scrolls as well.

Store up spell staves that you will want to produce. If you don't get something good, scrap it out to get the silver oil rather than try again. Buy up staves when you can to suit your needs.
