If my Skeletons are really that much stronger in Nightmare then all's well, but the trick is actually GETTING to Nightmare. So far Diablo is a brick wall and I have NOTHING that can cause any noticeable damage to him. Immune to Lightning, immune to Magic/Bone Spirit, and he may as well be immune to Fire and Ice too, because Fireball and Ice Blast do almost nothing to him. My skeletons can't do any damage to him (they die way too fast, for one thing), I don't have the armor to go toe-to-toe with him or the to-hit to actually hit him in melee...he's just a total brick wall for me.

He's only immune to Bone Spirit (and Stone Curse as all quest bosses are) but he is a damage pinata. I usually take full belt and inventory (25+40) potions just to be sure i have enough to beat him, and i go through almost all of them, so you can imagine how much life i need to restore when fighting in melee or spells i will have to cast.

He's immune to Holy Bolt too, and he's not supposed to be given that Holy Bolt is effective against him in vanilla Diablo. But yeah, none of my spells even do anything remotely close to feasible damage aginst him.

But I'll do as you said, I'll set my spells to left-click and put my skeletons on right-click so I can alternate between them easier, and just bring as many full juvs as I can. I'll try to grind for some better gear first though. Maybe get to 32 for Blood Pact if I can.

Do skeletons EVER gain elemental resistances? It would sure help them.

Yeah, well Holy Bolt works only against undead as it should logically, it was a bug in vanilla, even the description in vanilla reads "Smites an Undead enemy with Holy Light" and Diablo is a demon. But anyway, if you are close to clvl 32 then go for it, you'll get another 1/4 of life pool and your skills (summons, etc) and blood spells will cost half life, so you can bring just Full Life potions, maybe learn Blizzard too and use it instead of any of the spells you enumerated before. Blizzard, Meteor Cluster, Apocalypse and Chain Lightning (because it does dmg for each square of the "length" it passes through) are best offensive spells to use, rest become redundant compared to them.

And i think the minions gain some resistances in later difficulty, or maybe it's the increase in life that makes them better, anyway strength is in their nr, not the survivability, they are cheap anyway and you can tele-hit with them and most likely put the target into hit recovery, not Diablo thou he doesn't have hit recovery no matter how much dmg you do to him.

What about Frozen Orb? Is that not a decent spell for Cold damage?

If he's not immune to Magic damage, I'll give Blood Star a try since it's a blood spell, and will be cheaper with Blood Pact.

Blizzard does dmg in 9 square area, Frozen Orb throws ice shards in a circle that won't hit the target as much as Blizzard, i guess i would be ok against rooms with monsters but i'd still use Blizzard everyday over it once i get it.

As for Blood Star, almost never used it, i don't think it will do much dmg but let us know how it works.
