Awake: Mana shield Ranks + bugs

In Diablo, I have found no information as to what ranks in mana shield do.

I know in Diablo > Hellfire mana shield is bugged and it is NOT recommended to read more than 1 book into mana shield.

However,

I can't find any information if this Mana Shield reduction bug exists in Diablo > Awake.

I am not talking about the Diablo Awake>Hellfire test mod.

My friend Google couldn't help me, tried about 6 pages, and searching forums hasn't revealed any anwsers either XD.

Diablo Awake is a mod for Diablo v1.09, not for Hellfire.

In both D1 AND Hellfire, there is no incentive to read more Mana Shield books after you learn the spell, there is literally NO positive changes, IIRC. So if you wanted to be as efficient as possible, just stick with lv. 1.
