Belzebub/Tchernobog how to use same savefile

Hi there,
I recently got nostalgic and decided to talk a friend into playing Diablo 1 and in order to play together, we happened to stumble upon the Tchernobog mod and so far we're really enjoying it. However, I realized that Tchernobog has no quests, which is fine for MP, but I'm usually playing more than my friend and I'd at least like to have access to quests in Singleplayer. I'm not sure whether or not quests are repeatable, but I thought some extra items and some questing between all the grinding might be nice.

So as for my question: is it possible to use the same savefile to play on both Belzebub and Tchernobog?
If so, would it be possible to set the save-directory to the same for both mods via a config file or would I have to switch my savefile between directories whenever switching between SP/MP?

Saves are not compatible between Belzebub and Tchernobog.
