Tips in endgame to make it more fun

Post by carpediem86 »

Hi, I have beaten Diablo with my Rogue and have decent gear. Right now I have around 150 % mf and can play on players 5 settings (not when facing Diablo). Does anyone have any tips what to do now? I have made maybe 10 runs and it's getting really slow to lvl up. I have enjoyed this mod so much, but now it's getting a bit boring. Any tips?

I just beat Torment Diablo for the first time with my Rogue (53) last night also. This was the second attempt, and I wasn't really going for the goal, just testing out equipment combinations on level 16 when I found an experience shrine. So as not to waste it, I razed Terror Domain fairly quickly.

Once past level 50, leveling up is a bonus, not a necessity. Level 50 allows all equipment to be equipped as long as stats are enough.

I generally run at $PLAYER 5 also on most levels. Will next start Cathedral over at $PLAYER 10 and clear one level per game until I have to back down the difficulty to clear and reach Diablo.

For the past few weeks, I have been putting equipment collections together for this rogue as I have for some of my other characters. By now, I have many sets and uniques plus crafted pieces. I store these in the chest as ensembles of best combinations ready to equip. Each ensemble has either a set (not necessarily for rogue) with max resists, critical damage, leach, and an appropriate rare or crafted bow matched to that gear for maximum damage. Most of these equipment combinations are set to be playable on Hell $PLAYER 10; Torment $0 is very challenging and some of your resists become less than max.

I have put together these types of equipment sets for Sorcerer, Warrior and Barb also.

For those equipment combinations, the game becomes more about the combat challenge for playing out-of-class tactics. Try using melee sets or sorcerer sets rather than relying on ranged bows. It can be done and the frustration is the challenge. You can always retreat and "W" over to your bow to thin out the mobs.

This is also an opportunity to play those lower level rogue sets that are finally complete to try them out. Uptire them as you can by crafting. I still have not found Upgrade Set Weapon scroll!

Thank you, maybe I will try to clear all levels on Player 10 settings later. It will get really tough towards the end!

I'm level 58 and I still run on player 0. I gain more exp per hour on player 0 then I do on player 5-10. I can teleport across the map and nuke everything with multi shot. On higher settings, I need to be more careful and it takes much longer to clear a level. I die more often which results in frustration and time wasted backtracking.

I play this game leisurely with a podcast, youtube video, or ebook playing in the background. Its hard for me to play and listen at the same time while on higher player settings.

Now past level 50 on Rogue, Barbarian, and my favorite Necromancer, leveling up and experience doesn't mean much to me; I am content for the slow leveling up from here on since I can equip just about everything shared except high stat items that are out of class.

Sure, I can teleport around and nuke everything, or just follow my skeletons around and pick up loot. But I like to play the running battle where the hero is in for a tough fight and in constant retreat having to pick off mobs bit by bit. Equipping lower level equipment that has been uptiered or equipment that is out-of-class can be a real challenge.

Either mode of play is good. Keep this game from getting boring.
Tchernobog, when quests are enabled, will be the way to go, having multiuplayer allies to add cooperative aspect to the game.

I'm curious do those that play torment at a higher $player setting find the gear drops are better?

My rogue is 51, and beating diablo rather easily in torment at the default $player but holy crap the gear drops are just brutal for me. I dont have anywhere near perfect gear so I was hoping to farm him some. But i got more unique items in the lower dungeon levels, it seems very rare for me to find a unique when clearing and diablo's loot is mostly blue gear, wtf.

I'm done with lost treasure runs, my rogue dies more than I care and the unique's are typically low lvl, not worth it.

Yes, in Belzebub this command affects EXP and loot from monsters.

NegPulse, Do rogue treasure runs with teleport and items that give spell cast speed. You will never die and make a run last around one minute max.
