New player questions
Hey
I started playing this amazing mod yesterday, and now I got some questions.
1. Can you max stats like in original diablo where sorc had 250 magic max, or can you go even higher?
2. I played a bit of median, and you could fuck your char up there, if you missed some things while leveling. Do similar things exist here?
3. Is there some kind of database / wiki where i can read more about the game, cause the webpage is scarce on info.
4. I started necro, and i put most of my stats into magic, now i see it would be better to put it into magic, so is there some kind of way to respec or?
5. I know that negative shrine effects are gone, but do black death zombies still reduce your life points if you get hit?
Thanks

1. I don't think there is a max you can put in, it's the max you can attain from leveling and quests.
2. No level challenges, just don't forget to do the quest that give +base attributes, but you could come back later and do them if you skipped any. Also do Horazon's Sanctum quest in the right order to get the +spell lvl, and in general i'd save doing quests that give +spell lvls for when you'd need high MAG to learn next lvl.
3. I've done docs but it's unfinished and probably never will be for Belzebub build: http://awake.diablo1.eu.org/diablo-1-hd ... t1211.html I'll probably resume for Tchernobog build sometime in the future.
4. It's generally best to put points in the attribute that boosts your class skills. Necro can go VIT and MAG, VIT until he feels he doesn't need to summon minions too often. You can respec after you get 1 more xp level after max lvl.
5. Only temporarily, and if you die the negative effect is gone.

It is achievable, but more of a personal achievement, by clearing each difficulty and not farming/grinding at all you will reach clvl 50 by the end of Torment difficulty. And at clvl 50 you can wear all items, and if you have the best of them having or not having the other 50 attribute points you will get from the last 10 clvl is not a huge difference. Of course some players like to increase monster power ($player x command line) to get more xp and loot as they progress in game, it depends on how well you feel you do against higher power monsters according with how good your gear is at certain times.
It's ok to put a few points (5-10) in other stars if you really need them, but not necessary and they don't help as much as some affixes on items that provide more then the points spent, imo it's best to just pump your skills as much as you can cause those are the main power of a character. Plus with the addition of rare/crafted items and better uniq and newly set items it's much easier to get for ex +all attributes from item sources, then it was in original D1 where you had only 2 affixes on each item, and no belt items as well.

tnx again
the main reason im asking these questions is, i would like to play the end game content, and i dont want to invest time in a char that ill later regret. for example i started necro, when i knew nothing about the mod. i wanted to play a sorc guy, and thought that necro would fit that role. later i realised that skeletons blocking paths in narrow corridors bothers me too much, and that i wouldnt like necro mainly cause of that (and also im in a sorc mood, and necro seems like sorc, but then again i guess he isnt, if you get what i mean). i didnt get teleport skill, and maybe that would sort my problems, but still... im leaning more towards sorc, yet i heard that sorc has troubles with endgame due to quad res... decisions decisions

btw, whats the right horazon order, and should i first get as many spells possible before i do the quest, or even finish nightmare first, then get back to horazon in normal to gain higher lvls of spells?
edit:
i found info about the quest in the link you gave me and it seems that i did the right order in my first playthrough, as i recall getting a golem reward.
also i dont know where i got the idea that all spells get increased but thats not important now.
one more question tho, are there max level of spells? or should i really really save horazon reward when the levels of golem get impossible to obtain due to too high magic req?

15 is the max learnable spell lvl, but some items give +all spell levels or + to individual spells so you can have more. I personally save the +spell lvl quests on all difficulties until i can't learn more spells levels with just +MAG from gear/Elixir/Eerie Shirne/etc, it's not super important, but i like to max out things.
yeah i like to max out things also, hence these questions.
also, whats the state of chain lightning? i remember back then, we wouldnt level it over lvl 11 due to freezing your char in place, cause tons of lightning would get released and you would have to wait until it reached the end of the hallway, so the skill became useless on lvls 11+ (something to do with frames, i dont quite recall).
is it the same here, or was that fixed? should i go over 11 on my chain lightning?
