I found out yesterday that using GUARDIAN SPELL plus teleport is quite a good way of killing not only mosnters but also bosses.
I escape using teleport and cast a lot of GUARDIANS.
It may be slower and boring but in most cases effective.
It is good against HASTE MONSTERS.

was good on first two difficulties for me, base damage from Guardians got too low for 3rd and especially 4th one... never tried building around it though
