I think you can achieve more vit on crafted items (vit + all attributes combined), but max resistences are nothing to fuck with.
Also, rathma's staff is so rad I might as well use it on a sorcerer when I'll have such option bcs rare items SUCK huge dildo in tchernobog. Yes I am pissed.

Always go for as much -res as you can, it will give you more DPS than +level to spell or spell power against immune or resistant enemies.
Hit recovery is very important for melee classes. It lets you live in surroundings.
