I'm afraid I can't be much help beyond this point, sorry. I'm only a tinkerer with stuff like coding and game graphics, and it was all a blur to me, lol. I can tell you why the files for the Hell levels are in a different format, though, just because I remember when the game first came out; it went ...

Getting to the IMG files is no big deal. You need a few hours of experience with decompilers but otherwise it's very easy to find and modify them... and frankly if you don't have any experience with them a project like this one is a good one to cut your teeth on. Most people prefer these ones: http:...

As predicted, I have discovered from a reputable source that MF% does, in fact, have an influence on chests. As for the Golem debate, I always summon Lumpy anyway just because, you know, it's a long walk all the way to that cave and it's not like the Teleports eat up all of your mana. That one time ...

Someone might very well step in and correct me here, but as far as I know we don't actually know what effect MF% has on chests. It's one of the more mystical subroutines that's still locked in the code we don't have access to. All we do know is that it definitely doesn't have as much effect on chest...

Okay. Your problem is almost definitely an incompatibility issue everybody had with a unpdate patch Win10 made everyone upload back in Spring, so we need to regress the build back to before that happened. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery (tab on the bottom left) > Go back to the pre...

Tchernobog currently lacks most of the quests, unfortunately. However, you should also keep in mind that it also has other players you can trade with. My personal advice is to give your rogue a break for a while and start a sorcerer to go do some farming. Sorcs are the easiest to get through Normal ...

Welcome to the forums!

I'm crossing my fingers that this is just a glitch we can solve with the ol' nuke and pave. Delete the whole folder and do a fresh install. That should load the correct data set of OpenGL when you install the original Diablo from your disc/file (in the game menu itself).

I always craft with my leftover gear, that's the best way to boost your stats throughout the game (but especially at the beginning). Note that you can wear crafted gear with another class's name; the only thing the name changes is a few key statistics it will pump. Barbarian's gear, for instance, al...

Drops get substantially better with each difficulty. Work on killing Diablo so you can move on to Nightmare and you should start seeing more goodies pretty quick.

Chain Lighting will take his spawns out while still maintaining pressure on Doomlord Ga'mar. I'd suggest using teleport to bounce around once he or his minions start getting near, which will also regroup your skellies. Your biggest challenge in all of Terror's Domain is going to be the next boss, Lo...

Guardian does a stunningly good job of taking those out. It does a good job of hitting even if the mage is teleporting around and you can drop it in the doorway so you aren't walking into a wall of fireballs.

I did have a melee character once who was trying to abuse the "x% damage absorbed by mana" equipment, but that's about the only corner case I can think of where having more MP is better than having higher level spells. In the long run having the more potent spells is going to probably cost...

Oh I don't think it could hurt. It has always seemed strange to me that the Warrior is the one, canonicaly, to take down Dibs and yet is one of the worst at doing so. I agree with Ugily's earlier statement that the biggest setback for the melee classes is the lack of ITD weapons... seriously I won t...

So the guy I know who does code editing says it should be one of the easiest things to do in the code itself. Get MPQeditor, look for the large equation that ends up being all the possible variables that could be applied to the Warrior's health, find the one that says V(2) [for "+2x VIT stat&qu...

I don't mean to be harsh, but now you're just skewing my words in the worst possible light. When I originally said "At the lower levels" I, at least, thought it wasn't too much to assume a few key points: namely that the player was newer, playing normally, and actively equipping one or mor...
