Haha - this question really reminds me of a story by a comedian: he walks by a random company looking for a job in England, knowing a single word in English, so he goes inside and says: "Job?" :D :D :D Sorry about that mate! :D In Belzebub you should get quests (look for exclamation marks ...

I agree with Miacis: finding HS is more likely before finding high-end recipes. I also have the feeling that certain character types have better chances in finding items for certain other characters. For example, with my LV51 necromancer (with MF ~200%) in Torment, I have not been able to find HS, S...

As a general rule of thumb, don't expect anything fancy to drop in Normal & Nightmare. It's sometimes a real pain in the @ss to complete a set, even in tier 1. But eventually, (starting from Hell difficulty) it becomes much easier. But then again, if you can't beat those guys in Terror Domain, j...

Don't worry, it will be worse. Just wait until you face "lightning enchanted" bosses on later difficulties. They can be super annoying. Haha. But seriously, this game has a very important aspect: farming. You don't / can't typically max out a character by itself, it's like a team...

I think we all understand your point of view @Hassadar and there's nothing wrong with it. You really want to go "by the book" here and just accept everything as is. I'm okay with that. I, on the other hand think differently. It's not black & white for me. Just think about community pat...

@Hassadar: you completely misunderstand my intentions. If I wanted to cheat I would do things like maxing the level of my Golem spell or my HP. Be honest to yourself and tell me, would you ever consider equipping Chernobog's Claw with your warrior as it is now? For sure, you could equip other stuff ...

Thanks @Hassadar for the clarification. I found the docs for D2 (there's even an attack speed calculator out there considering IAS). I now understand that IAS should not be considered as a percentage value, but more like a lookup value in a table where IAS ranges are mapped to frame (tick) counts. T...

I did a little bit of reverse engineering the other day and found a way to fix this sword. For now, it's still a bit inconvenient to use the fix, but I don't really mind. I might find a permanent way soon and I'll keep you posted. For the other geeks, here's the thing: 1. attach a debugger/disassemb...

I think I get the idea. And this correlates well with what I've seen when experimenting with items of IAS: in most cases attack time is a factor of 16, as if 16 was some kind of "stepping". I can accept this (well, I have to), but I'm not too happy with the mystical calculations involved. ...

@jcvmarques: I'm more interested in the math not the rendering part. Why is attack time 544 equipping a Tulwar with 30% increased attack speed for my warrior?

Thanks for the info @Britnoth. It seems though the formula is still not precise enough.

Example: Chernobog's Claw is a Tulwar with a +30% increased attack speed. Equipping it shows:
Attack speed: 130%
Attack time: 544

What is going on here?

Attack speed vs Attack time

Guys, I need some clarification on this. I just can't get the math right here. If I have a 130% attack speed, should that decrease the attack time by 30%? Theoretical example: I equip an ordinary Tulwar sword with my warrior which results in: Attack speed: 100% Attack time: 640 Now how should Attack...

In my opinion, that's the only way it makes sense. The current level of the spell "comes" from your spellbook. How else would it work?

Thanks for the hint & info on attack speed guys. But the math seems to be broken here. For Tulwar you say, attack speed is 0.64, subtracting the 30% (this item has 30% IAS) results in 0.64*0.7=0.448, but for me it shows ~560. And that makes a real difference. BTW, the Iratha set is already way t...

Well, based on the documentation, for each character level, barbarians get: 5 Attribute Points +2 Life +0.5% Elemental Resistances +0.3% Physical Damage (only at levels 4 to 60, levels 1 to 3 make up 1-1 innate damage) -0.2% Critical Hit Chance (only at levels 1 to 10, after 10 it stops decreasing) ...
